Today in Belgium I have voted many times because we had some diverse elections, for example the Walloon parliament and the EU one.

I voted for Ecolo because I hope that they love the birds and animals, and the gardens. :)

In Holland, only about 30% have voted, and in Slovakia only about 13%. In my opinion this is disgusting. :mad:The poeple in the hisotry have died for the opportunity to vote and express your personal choise. Then the suffragettes have died for us also, that not onyl the men can vote.

In Belgium you must vote, it is obligatory. If you don't vote then you must pay a fine, but this isn't the good solution because I think that some people don't care and they vote without think at all.

I am very, very, very happy that I can vote. What is your opinion?

In the US we normally average around 50-60% for presidential elections. I vote in presidential elections. I vote in other elections if I'm in my home state, which is rare. I once missed a presidential election because I was overseas, messed up and didn't get the ballot figured out in time. So I selected "sometimes".

Yes, of course I voted. I am a regular voter being happy to live in a real democracy. We had 3 elections in NRW, so I had 3 votes to give yesterday. Voting day in Germany is always a Sunday, while voting day in the Netherlands is always a Wednesday.

We have a provincial election coming up here in about 10 days. Usually I hold my nose and vote. This time I'm considering declining my ballot. We have no "none of the above" option on our ballots here.

I always, always vote and I've never missed any elections since I was 18. First as a free citizen in a democracy and all that it means, and secondly as a woman, because women in the past had to fight twice as hard to get the vote and I will not be the one to throw their struggles in the garbage.

Although embici is right: you have to hold your nose to do it :(
In fact that is a classic debate in Greece: if we value democracy we should vote, but if the parties are corrupt then should we vote? Difficult, very difficult answer...
