Hi all, I am 52 years now and it's impossible to summarize my lifelong language learning activities in a short presentation. German is my native language and English was my first foreign language which I had to learn in the United States, where I lived with my family at age 7. I have studied 4 foreign languages at school, serveral foreign languages at university and later I followed all kinds of language courses at the VHS (= Volkshochschule) in evening classes. In 2008 I joined HTLAL and in 2009 I started my language logs there and experimented with elements of language self - study . My best foreign language is Dutch (C2 -level). I write my blogwebsite for 95 % in Dutch and only some posts in English there. If you want to know my full language learning history, you can read it on my blogwebsite in Dutch - German - English. The info on my profile here in this forum is uncomplete, because I can't fill in all my languages there. My current study languages are Danish since October 2009 and Norwegian Bokmâl since May / July 2013. Nice to meet you here! Fasulye
Glad to have you here! Can you tell me which languages need to be added? I will get them added this evening.
Big Dog, thank you for the welcome! I have the problem that I could only add one language per category. This way it doesn't work at all for me. My list of languages: Native: German Advanced: Dutch, English Intermediate: Esperanto, Spanish, Italian, French Basic: Norwegian, Danish But how can I add more than one language per category? Fasulye
I added the only language that was missing from your list (Dutch). To add more than one language - it works like highlighting lines of text. You can select additional languages using the ctrl or shift keys. I'm updating to a bigger list, and that will be done tomorrow, but that won't affect the languages you select today. So everything should be good to go.
Good to see you around to waiting for HTLAL to come back. We will contribute some Scandinavian influence here. I am sorry that I can't discuss about Russian resources with you and the other learners of Russian. So I have to elect other topics where I can take part in the discussions. "God Påske"! Fasulye
