    I have this software www.personal-lexicon.com.
This was the only software I was able to install. Most often lexicon software are of some type of Python script or something. Not my cup of tea.

I was just wondering if this type of software are useful for language learning or not.
And if personal-lexicon is a viable version for this type of software.
    For PC and MAC.

    Thank

Never tried it myself, but it seems to have fallen into the trap of favouring "powerful" over "quick and easy to use" -- why all those complicated options to do a quick test...?

I already have a personal lexicon. It's called Anki. I spend a lot of time creating new entries, so I am not inclined to switch to anything more complicated or that has more features that I could spend yet more time on. It's not perfect, but it fits my needs.

With software, the qualities of "it works" and "it scales" and "it's still being developed and likely to be around for a long time" > "bright & shiny" and "bells and whistles" and "unlikely to gain enough market share to endure"

If I were a field linguist and I needed to catalog large amounts of linguistic data, I might find something like this useful, but for actually learning a language... gyad - seems awfully convoluted. That's a lot of data entry.

Yeah. I'm a bit fascinated of this software. But afraid of how much time it will steal from other language learning activity.
