Hello everyone, I came across these forums recently as I've gotten back into language learning. I am currently studying Esperanto and plan on getting as good as I can get till the end of the year and then move my focus from it to learning my main target, Serbian. I grew up speaking it at home but soon fell out of use when I started school. I've tried a few times to learn it, but never stuck with it long enough and as a result from my attempts at learning both this and other languages I did at school, I sort of lost the confidence I once had when it came to language learning. Esperanto has rekindled that confidence for me as even though I am still in the early stages I can actually communicate in the language beyond a dozen set phrases learnt from a textbook. It's gotten to the stage where I can read a lot of texts and generally get the gist of what's going on - not a massive feat I realize for most people, but for me it is Anyways, I don't really plan on getting to a very high level in this language, it's just there to help me develop some good habits I think and build my confidence that yes, even I can learn a language Anyways, I noticed there was a few language learners here on this forum and it seemed like a good place to join in, be involved and help keep my motivation going as I move forward. I look forward to getting to know you all! Cheers,
Welcome to the forum pensulo! I remember this stage - it's a great feeling, and you are definitely to be congratulated.
Thank you for the welcome! I'm still at the stage of *man this is so totally cool* but I'm sure I'll calm down a bit eventually, that is until I get to a far more fluent state
