One of the resources I'll need to study Korean is at least one good native Korean drama with a Korean transcript. I expect to hire someone to transcribe. Do you have any suggestions for a suitable show? Here are my preferences: Realistic modern story line - no period pieces, no kung-fu adventures, no people with super powers, etc Original Korean Script - no copies of Japanese or American shows Good looking Actors/Actresses Not too silly - most asian dramas have silly parts in them, you know, where the music goes goofy, and they do something really annoying and not at all funny. I just want to avoid shows that do too much of this. Not too much evil - many dramas are based on somebody or some group of people being incredibly evil most of the time, for example, throwing pregnant ladies down staircases, starving children, etc. A little evil is ok, but I want to avoid shows with that sort of thing as the whole theme.
Well, I don't really watch Korean dramas, but I saw the first episode of 상어 and it seemed okay. Here's the Wikipedia synopsis: I don't know if that qualifies as too evil or not, but it meets your other critera. The only other drama I really know is 왕가네 식구들 (of which I heard an excerpt in a news report about tensions between son in laws and mother in laws). My wife's suggestion is 부모님 전상서, which she says meets your criteria.
Maybe take a browse through the blurbs over at Viki, you can filter by genre too. For example this one already has both Korean and English subtitles. There are more resources and suggestion in this thread at Koohii.
