    As a learner, it's really annoying when they leave the dots off of ё. But since they rarely use the dots anyway, it's not like the language will become a lot harder to read.

    I find it irritating that formal Russian texts use ë as the only indication of stress at all. Either you do as the Greek and notate all stresses, or you can just as well drop them all. I have noticed that some Russians are fuzzy about that ë, others couldn't care less, and I prefer following the exampel of those who have dropped it.

    Agreed. Memorizing the stress feels like a secondary thing to me, and of course I make mistakes.
